This was a gift for a family who recently lost their beloved Lab mix. They were very touched by the beauty of this piece which serves as a memorial.
We ordered the hanging version as a decoration for our backyard fence gate. The item came with a nice, secure hanger, but since we mounted it on a gate, we needed another way to secure it. Easy enough; just drilled a couple holes and screwed it in place. The item itself is beautifully made and finished, good lab likeness, heavy enough to be durable, but not so heavy that it pulls on the gate hinge. Well packed for shipping. We are Labrador lovers for many years, and this is a wonderful memorial to all of our labs past and present.
I sent this to my son and his partner after they lost their dog unexpectedly. She was a beautiful yellow lab that they adored. They live in another state so I didn’t get to see it in person yet, but they said it’s beautiful. They love it and have it in their garden so they can look at it often.
I love the steel labrador but am not as pleased with the color as I ordered a yellow lab. If I had seen a painted yellow lab on the website, I would probably have ordered a rusty lab.
